*****Dogs for Adoption*****

10/9/2026 – Dolly’s pups are ready for adoption!!! 16 weeks old on 10/12/26. Have had 3 puppy shots. Will get rabies prior to adoption. The pups are active, outgoing, love people-attention, are healthy, and are starting to develop individual personalities. They have been exposed to many new people and have several adult dogs around them in their foster home. Puppies have started house training with a dog door and are making excellent progress! DNA for one of the pups shows all herding dogs in the background.

Adoption fee is $50 plus a spay/neuter deposit to be refunded later with proof of spay/neuter. Please call (505) 877-7352 for more information.

Dolly’s Puppies!

Kelsea (Female) – Energetic, will need an active home. Has obvious herding instinct! Kelsea is very sweet and loving. Has her mama’s eyes!

Jelly Roll (Male) – still the largest dog in the litter, a very fun puppy, up for new adventures! Jelly Roll is a handsome boy, with a beautiful gray coat.

Dolly – 10/9/26 – ***ADOPTION PENDING***

Female black-tri Aussie – Dolly came into foster care with a litter of 6 mixed-breed puppies – 3 males, 3 females. We think Dolly is around 4 years old. Puppies are now ready for adoption (see above).

Dolly is a very sweet girl, loves people-attention, and gets along with the other dogs in foster care. She fits right into the household, enjoys being part of the family, and feels comfortable enough with her doggie buddies to do a bit of wrestling now and then. Dolly is due to go to her new home on 10/15/26.

COURTESY POSTING!

CHARLIE – 7 YEAR OLD RED MALE AUSSIE WITH A TAIL. THIS DOG IS NOT IN FOSTER CARE WITH US – PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE SHELTER TO GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CHARLIE.

Charlie is at: Bernalillo County Animal Care and Resource Center

3001 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105

Charlie has tons of personality! He will show you his happy face and then go get a toy for you to throw for him. He is a kennel worker favorite at the shelter!

Charlie came into the shelter extremely overweight. His adopter will have to slowly get him back to a normal weight which is likely to take a year. But it will be worth it to see Charlie healthy AND happy!! Here are some of the strategies we’ve used over the years to slowly decrease a dog’s weight:

  • Portion Control – feed twice a day, measured amounts, gradual reduction in the size of the meal
  • Add green beans to the meals – this give the dog something to fill them up a bit more with almost no calories
  • Snacks – use veggies, low fat treats
  • Small increments of exercise 2 to 3x/day, gradually increasing over time

Adopt a Senior! This is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do!! Please remember that seniors often need more veterinary care so be prepared for some extra cost.
